How time flies! It has now been two years since we first exhibited at the British Pig and Poultry Fair in 2016 and we are very pleased to return, once again for the UK event at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire on the 15th and 16th May
A lot has happened since we first exhibited back in 2016 with EmTech. We continue to build and grow in strength and are very proud to have completed many installations in the UK and worldwide to date; all of whom are now benefiting from the EmTech Effect.
With the return to the UK Pig and Poultry Fair, it will be a timely marked reminder of the fantastic support that EmTech has received from their UK customer base since its humble beginnings, so a big thank you to all.
At this year’s show, we’ll be putting an emphasis on our system upgrades. Many of the features we build into our systems as standard are also available as an upgrade to improve any existing installed machines
One of the upgrades we’ll be exhibiting is our setter fan board assembly upgrade. This highly effective upgrade significantly improves the setter temperature bandwidth, resulting in a marked increase in performance of hatch and chick quality. Data from installations to date have shown an average hatch increase of 1.6% across all flock ages for a Buckeye Setter using the fixed rack setting method.
Supplied in our NovaTech ranges, it is now available as retrofits for many types of multistage fixed-rack setters and multistage trolley setters including Buckeye, Newmark, Western and ChickMaster models.
EmTech offers a wide range of upgrades options which you can view here.
Why should I care about temperature bandwidth?
At EmTech, we believe that temperature is king. If the temperature is too low, it can result in a delayed, poor hatch which in turn would produce very low chick quality.
However, if the temperature is too high, this can increase mortality during the later stages of incubation, leading to poor chick quality and extremely stressed embryos.
A poor temperature spread will result in a very wide hatch window. This will in turn, directly affect the performance of the hatch, producing poor chick quality due to the high and low temperatures within the egg mass.
So, how do you prevent this?
EmTech has found that for successful incubation, eggshell temperatures should range between 37.8° C – 38.3°C. By measuring our temperature bandwidth to not exceed 0.6°C, all developing embryos experience the exact same environmental conditions.
This accurate control, combined with a very tight temperature bandwidth and a maximum difference of only 0.6° C across the entire egg mass, results in an extremely tight hatch window, a good hatch and excellent quality chicks.
EmTech systems are proving every day that the tighter the hatch window the better the quantity, quality and liveability of the chicks. This is what we call…The >EmTech Effect<
Hatcheries across the world have benefitted from the EmTech Effect. The combination of our innovative design and our dedication to providing our customers with not only the highest quality equipment but also an exceptional level of service has helped to establish EmTech as a leader in our field. It has also resulted in many happy customers:
“We were looking to expand our hatchery business and looked at many suppliers. We chose EmTech to supply our new machines as the machines are not overly complicated. They have been able to customise the machines to our requirements, we have been very impressed with the quality of the finish, the prompt delivery and the enthusiasm of all of the staff. We are only a small hatchery but have always felt like an important customer and have received exceptional after sales service. It is an added bonus that they are local. Furthermore, our first two hatches of the season have shown an increase in hatchability of 15% and 22% so a very happy customer.” – Yvette Milton, Newland Farm Geese
