EmTech recently supplied BroMargo, a leading Polish poultry integrator, with six of their high specification, single stage, PrimoTech incubators and two VidaTech hatchers for their Margonin hatchery.
Each PT12 setter and VT216 hatcher combination is capable of producing 57,024 chicks over the 21 day process.
BroMargo wanted to see how the new EmTech machines compared with their existing systems so, Eliza Kucharska, BroMargo Hatchery Manager, conducted a trial using the identical 34 week (Ross 308) flock with an egg age of 9-10 days in both sets of incubators.
The results have now been verified and Eliza was delighted to announce that the first hatch from their PrimoTech setters produced a very impressive 90.8% hatchability compared with 90% from their old systems.
This may not seem a very significant improvement but, Eliza stressed, these results are from prime flocks where 0.8% greater hatchability is very impressive. “With older flocks we would expect to see greater improvements so we are hoping for even better results in the future”.
Tim Hodgetts, EmTech’s Sales Director, was very pleased with the first results from BroMargo, “with the improvements that EmTech has made to airflow, heating, cooling and cabinet construction over similar systems we have a machine that is capable of out-performing all comparable systems for hatchability and chick quality”.
