EmTech have been chosen to supply their setters, hatchers, controls and ventilation products and upgrades for the Hy-Line UK Millennium Hatchery.
This is a three-stage renovation project starting with supplying eight VidaTech VT216-150 hatchers for Hy-Line’s new hatcher room extension. Phases two and three will include the replacement of eight existing hatchers and finally, the supply of three PrimoTech single-stage PT24-150 setters.
EmTech was delighted to have been asked to supply their equipment and expertise. Tim Hodgetts, EmTech sales director said, “this is especially pleasing as many of us, now at EmTech, have known and worked with the Millennium Hatchery since it’s inception in 2000.
Omead Serati, managing director of Hy-Line UK was keen to explain why they decided to go with EmTech. “We have just started the new extension that will take us well into 2017. We took the decision to work with a British hatchery supplier, Emtech. We have used this company in the past two years on smaller projects and have been very impressed with their installations, equipment and their experienced team. The uncertainty at the time of the project around Brexit also made working with a British supplier quite appealing. The expansion will allow us to increase capacity and future proof the business long term, and help in the short term in giving us capacity to renovate and replace older hatchers.” Omead said that, once capacity was online in the first quarter of 2017, Hy-Line’s Millennium hatchery would be the largest layer hatchery in Europe.
