Older hatcheries commonly find that their ventilation systems struggle to provide the air volumes required to incubate today’s larger eggs, or cope efficiently with modern single-stage incubation systems. Also, hatcheries looking to expand production capacity will often find that enlarging their existing ventilation systems and ducting can prove problematical and can involve expensive hatchery down time. This dilemma provided the impetus that led to the development of the first ‘standalone’ hatchery ventilation systems less than ten years ago. Indeed, it was incubation industry professionals, some now EmTech personnel, who were heavily involved in the development of these early systems.
With the advent of these ‘plug and play’ systems additional hatchery ventilation has never been easier to install. Processed air and chilled water can now be supplied to all hatcheries simply and efficiently, connected either directly to existing systems or working independently for hatchery expansion projects. In fact, brand new hatcheries are finding this solution better than supplying traditional HVAC infrastructure from the outset.
EmTech has now taken the development of ‘standalone’ ventilation solutions to another level with the EnviroTech
It is a packaged and pre-assembled ventilation system that offers all the necessary services to supply setters and hatchers hatching up to 1.3 million chicks per week in one simple, energy efficient, unit. The system provides setters and hatchers with air volumes of up to 12 cubic metres per second, chilled water and hot water where needed, with the added advantage of heat recovery gathered from the warm water return lines.
The entire system is controlled with the Enviro-Eclipse® control system, which offers the ultimate in environmental control and energy efficiency. Apart from water chillers and tanks, it is a complete solution for all the required services and supplied as a finished unit that is simply installed and commissioned.
Many new features make the EnviroTech unique, including the inclusion of a spacious integral plant room that allows ease of maintenance, a comfortable working environment and easy access to system pumps, glycol top-up, system valves, plate heat exchanger, boilers and controls. Essentially, everything (except the fans) which may require servicing is within easy access. Another important feature is the multi-fan design and extra stand-by pumps that give peace of mind in the event of component failures.
The unique EnviroTech integral plant room
The EnviroTech unit is designed to stand outside the hatchery. It has a rugged cabinet build with a profiled roof to withstand the harshest of weather conditions anywhere in the world.
